Happy Halloween!

The party was great!
We all had an amazing time and apparently Romulan ale is an aphrodisiac/ happy pill all rolled in to one.
Any who more on that later... I just wanted to show off the amazing pumpkins izzimalfoy and I carved.
So we are really big geeks and nerds and we play mmo's and all that so I wanted to do the World of Warcraft Alliance and Horde faction symbols and then we also wanted the Star Trek insignias. However when we went out to get out pumpkins we could only find one big one and 3 little ones so we only did the Alliance symbol because thats what side we all play for the most part.

The last two are a bit dark but I will have to find brighter ones if I can.
I will post our costumes and party pictures later being that my camera was found under the couch today so I have to get them from other people :P

Ok so life is insane right now I just added it up and between 50+ hours I spend a week teaching for free and the 15 hours I manage a week at my paid job I’m working 65 hours a week. And everyone wonders why I’m going crazy. Sorry I decided that I would hit up the 2-4-1 margaritas tonight and get the dear god I want to drown myself in this size so I’m goooood right now and oh wait for it….. Its my bed time….lol I have a bed time and how old are we???????

I have soooo much shit to grade and a day to get it done in because it’s the first 9 weeks and grades are due next week and all I want to do is sleep. I have 9 more weeks of this and really I know how to teach that’s why the teacher I’m teaching for has just let me go and teach all of her classes and yes I want to be a teacher I know that and I love teaching but someone can shoot me any day now. I’m teaching someone else stuff and it sucks and then having to make it better but not change it and the kids hate it I have so had it right now. All that with a side of being broke because I can only woke about 15 hours at my real job and I’m not even supposed to have a job and student teach. LOL

The first day of school from the other side.

Well today will be the first day of school and I will be experiencing it for the first time from the other side.
High school what was I thinking. Why couldn’t I go with the babies in elementary its not like half of them aren’t just as bad.
I will be teaching high school Art for the first time tomorrow. Am I scared? Hell yeah I am. I’m I happy my life is starting to go in the right direction? Most defiantly.
And if anyone gets me down tomorrow I will just think of an amazing story smutjunkie posted: Caliente.
Now I must go and try to sleep.

I said I wouldn't do it! I said I wouldn't throw my thoughts in on this matter anymore. But here I am and I will keep it
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (if you can really call it that, it was more like Harry Potter and the Teenage Hormones Attack). All I have to say to the people that “wrote” the movie is that you fail miserably; and JKR you suck for not standing up for your shit thanks for the biggest POS ever!
Let me count the ways…
#1 I have said it about a million times you have a story with a good plot all you need to do it edit it NOT rewrite it!
#2 In regards to HBP: Wow grats on the most spastic movie ever. You could give someone convulsions with that thing! Just bouncing around with not a plot in sight.
#3 Did we really need that much snogging. I think I could have done without for the sake of, oh I don’t know, finding out what the other Horcruxes were maybe.
#4 Half Blood Prince Who?…. Poor Snape
#5 Oh, I’m so glad you can nearly kill someone in a bathroom and not get in any trouble.
#6 Yeah we will just leave that wand anywhere its location is not incredibly important to the next movie or anything.
#7 Really someone had to have just discovered fire in the animation department on set, because why else would you burn down the Burrow for no reason? Never mind going back there; that parts not important at all.
#8 No worries we went ahead and cut three more actors out of the budget! Harry doesn’t need to go back to the Dursley's that’s definitely not important for his survival.
#9 I still feel sorry for the girl that played Lavender in all the other movies they gave her the boot too!
#10 Dobby, Dobby, Dobby! Oh how they hate you and Kreacher too! Because although you are both important in the book, your lives matter not on the big screen.
#11 The DA: what a joke there. Just a bunch of pacifists in this one, or maybe they were all just off snogging and missed that a bunch of Death Eaters where running ramped.
#12 Ha! I made my self laugh with that one! Oh yeah, running ramped. I think will blow out a window and call it boys what do you think that scary enough? No need for anyone to get attacked or anything! Good old Death Eaters wouldn’t want to hurt anyone now would we.
#13 "Harry, Here goes I’m going to tell you to stay put while I go get dead and your going to just stand there. No need for me to conceal you and make it so you can't interfere."
#14 “How dare you use my own spell against me! Yes I’m the half Blood Prince” Wow! Really? That’s it? Glad we tossed that one in there. The whole movie suddenly make complete sense now!
#15 Why were they attempting to make a PG movie? OoTP was PG-13, what was wrong with making this one the same? Or did they pay someone off to have it rated PG?

Ok I think I’m going to leave it there for now. Being that I have already gone past the brief point. .

Right now I'm just going one day at a time. Well that's my plan but I can't help but think about due dates and upcoming exams, Its all rather frustrating but I know I will live. I have so much to do..... I have cosplay stuff I need to work on soo bad... I'm only doing 2 new ones for D*Con but I have 3 commissions in the works and possibly one more and we have 99 days till the con omg!

Right now school is sucking big time. I have 5 summer classes and that is it but it would appear that they are going to be some of the hardest I have ever taken. One education class is online. I have taken several online classes over my time in collage and never had problem I really like they way they are set up. This class is just off to a really bad start it is supposed to teach me how to manage a classroom but the teacher can’t even give clear instructions what good dose that do me? I’m just really frustrated right now and to top it off my other online class is about visual culture that I understand being an art major. But why dose the teacher have to give an assignment that evolves me going and finding an obscure Alfred Hitchcock film and watching it only to write a one page report on it. I, as most of my other classmates have also discovered, can not find the dam film so really what’s the point. *STOMPS OFF TO READ*

Star Trek 2009 review....

I have seen it 2 times now that should say something and I plan on seeing it again tomorrow I am taking my parents. I love the movie..... I was kind of freaking out at first being the nerd I am I was like wait what is going on here that's not right. But I accepted the story as it went on and I must say the cast was flawless my hats off to you all for embodying charters I grew up with and love. This movie has renewed a long standing love I have had for Star Trek. I grew up a child of the Next Generation but always had TOS close by thanks to my Mother who still to this day remembers the night the original pilot episode of Star Trek aired in 1966.

This move is amazing and I have nothing bad to say about it.

Well I only have 5 classes this summer and my 10 hour internship in the fall and I graduate. That will be putting me at 5 years for a bachelors but hey I guess that isn't so bad. I just hopping I passed everything this spring. I was taking 8 classes... stupid double major. Oh well and I start back to class next week :-( there is no time for rest in my life.

A Thanksgiving Message from Voltaire. And i couldn't have said it better. :-)

It's Thanksgiving today. I know this because I can't get anything done and the streets of Manhattan look like a ghost town. I generally start my day by going to a cafe down the street. There I check my email on one of their computers and have my morning coffee. Well, "my aftnoon coffee" might be a more accurate way to put it. It's a damn good thing they were open! I don't own a TV so checking my email is the only way I keep in touch with the world. My natural inclination is to continue work on the project I'm presently on. But I can't because everyone is too busy eating turkey or visiting family to be available for work. I figure that since it's a holiday and I can't really get much work done, perhaps I should finally do that huge pile of laundry that's been threatening to eat my apartment. On my way back from the cafe I notice that my laundromat is closed.
I hate Thanksgiving.

I walk around the neighborhood and find that there are 2 other laundromats with enough sense to be open, even if they are closing early. So, I went and got my laundry and dumped the huge pile of pile of black socks and black undie-pants into the big metal machine. I put in about seventy five dollars in quarters (hey, it's New York City) and some soap and went to go kill some time in yet another cafe with internet access.

I got online there to see if I could find a nice restaurant that's open on Thanksgiving that I could take my girlfriend to tonight for a romantic turkey dinner. I just realized that the words "romantic" and "turkey" can't really be used together. Ever.
Anyway, nothing really sold me so I took to wandering around the East Village. There's just about no one on the streets today. It's like the set of "28 Days Later" but in NYC.
I wondered what my friends were doing for Thanksgiving and then remembered that I don't have any. Oh... don't cry! It's not like that. I just mean that I'm sort of a workaholic so any friends I do have don't generally call to invite me to things because my answer is always the same. "I can't... I'm working"... or "I'm out of town".. or "I'm on tour"... or something along those lines.

Speaking of work...
I'm working on a really exciting project right now! It sort of fell into my lap about 2 weeks ago and it's so exciting that I dropped everything else I was doing to get it done. I can't tell you much about it yet because it's a surprise... but I will say that it's an animated short about Christmas. I hate Christmas, too! That's sort of what it's about I guess. And it's for a horror film producer.

I wish I was working on that right now... but I can't. Because it's Thanksgiving.

Honestly, I've never quite understood this holiday. I mean, it's about the Pilgrims and a rough winter and some kind Indians...and about giving thanks... I get all of that. But history clearly tells us that the Pilgrims inevitably lead to the rape and slaughter of an entire nation of native Americans. They basically brought about genocide. So what are we celebrating exactly? That the native Americans moved over so we can take their land? I just can't really rationalize it any other way no matter how hard I try.

I think Nina Ricci as Wednesday Adams in The Adams Family said it best:

Okay, look. I'm not cold blooded or unusally whiny or Emo or anything. I get it. I really do. We have lots to be thankful for and it's only right that we should give thanks for all of those things...( and here's the punchline folks.)... but at the risk of being really cliched, I give thanks EVERY SINGLE DAY. I honestly do.

There is not a day that goes by that I don't take a hard look at how lucky I've been . I have a wonderful son who is healthy and happy and eats every single day. I have a wonderful woman by my side whom I love, who is always looking out for me. I have some fantastic friends and family. And most importantly, I have been able to provide for myself and for my family doing what I LOVE! And for that I have YOU to thank, for coming to my shows, for buying my CDs, for reading my silly bulletins and giving a damn. I truly appreciate that... and I NEVER stop thinking about it. So corny as it sounds... I don't need some creepy, hypocritical tale about some Pilgrims and some corn to remind me of how much I have to be thankful for. And God forbid I should ever have to be reminded to be thankful ONE FUCKIN' DAY OUT OF A WHOLE YEAR! heh heh

So for the three hundred forty-somethinth-day this year, I thank the universe for my good fortune. I thank my family for their love and patience and I thank YOU for sticking by me.

So if you believe in holidays... then HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

And if you're like me... then.... HAPPY THURSDAY!!!!!

Yet another attempt to add an amendment here in Florida that would define "marriage as the legal union of only one man and one woman as husband and wife, no other legal union that is treated as marriage or the substantial equivalent thereof shall be valid or recognized."
Things like this affect us all wether we live in the state they are happening in or not.

Dying Woman Donates 32 Healthy Cats

This made me cry but it really is a story I felt I needed to repost it.

OPELIKA, Ala. (Oct. 15) - Five veterinary clinics in eastern Alabama received 32 surprises in the last week: Healthy cats in containers and carriers, along with notes from an anonymous donor saying she is dying from cancer.
The notes signed by "Miss R" beg the vets to find her pets new homes.
"My time is very, very short," the donor wrote. "There is not enough time to find homes for my children another way. I beg you not to let them die because I have to, please!"
"Please do not kill!" was written in capital letters on each of the containers.
Veterinarian Kim Bond said she found three plastic containers poked with holes sitting at her clinic's front door when she got to work at 7 a.m. a week ago.
Each cat's name, age, description and medical summary was written on its container. At least four other clinics received cats in Lee County, about 50 miles northeast of Montgomery.
"These cats were dearly loved," Bond told the Opelika-Auburn News. "They're not feral cats or neglected cats."
Most have new homes already. Veterinarian Buddy Bruce at Animal Health Center still has the six males dropped off Thursday at his clinic and he's offering discounts on all vet services, such as shots and neutering, to anyone who adopts one of the cats.
The identity and location of the donor is unknown.
"Other vets that I've talked to say the same thing, 'Let's do what we can to find these kitties homes,'" Bruce said. "These are her children. She took care of the situation the best way she could."

I'm such a geek and a Trekkie. I love the Original Series thanks to my mom who still to this day can remember her fighting with her brother over watching the pilot episode after that they where both hooked. I however am a child of TNG. Data, Worf, and Geordi are my favorites but who am I kidding I liked them all. I sadly held a grudge ageist DS9 for a very long time (over 10 years). My reason was that I thought that DS9 had brought about the end of The Next Generation. After meeting my boyfriend I found that he too was a Trekkie but his love was not so much TNG but DS9. It didn't take long for him to get me hooked and my resentment of DS9 ended. I love Sisko, Jadzia Dax, Quark and charters like Worf and O'Brien made the show wonderful. With D*Con in mind I decided this year I would make a original series uniform. I decided to go with it because I don’t look good in the other uniforms and I love the eps. Trials and Tribble-lations from DS9 where they crossover to the original series eps. Trouble with Tribbles.

Ok I love the movie Trainspotting and Ewan McGregor’s roll is wonderfully edgy but what dose the movie Trainspotting have in common with Harry Potter? That is lost even to me. I think Dan just wants to compare himself to Ewan *roflol* don’t get me wrong I think Dan is as cute as any but Ewan well yeah need I say more. I think you should judge for your self I guess. But really if you haven’t seen Trainspotting there really isn’t much to go off of.
